Long time no see

I know, its been a few days.

I have the Harley stripped all the way to the last nut and bolt, all the parts have been ordered and are starting to arrive, and I finished sanding the frame last night. Next step, Paint.

Hopefully I can start assembly this weekend, I cant wait. My goal deadline is May 15th to have it rideable.

My wife discovered a dead person at her hotel last week, and has been weirded out ever since. It was a tough situation to deal with. So, now I cant sleep with the covers over my head, or leave racing on the TV. That seems to remind her of the whole thing.

Oh, and I have the best wife ever, she has been polishing her butt off, on the parts on this bike, and I haven't even asked for help. She took the highway bars, that looked like raw steel (chrome that bad) and polished them to like new last night. How many wives do this kind of stuff?

As the world turns

Well, today my world turned a full 360, and life is good, more on this later. (It's that season again apparently)

Ordered all the necessary parts to get my bike on the road. It still sounds weird to call it 'my' bike, its even more weird to go out in the garage and see it every time I go to smoke. There's always something that needs polished or sanded. It's going to get me into trouble.

Corey has been talking his head off all night. He amazes me every time I see him.

Life is sooooo good.

Great weekend

Friday I took off work, and went and picked up the coveted Harley-Davidson 1979 FXE, that I have begged for, for 10 years straight.

I hadn't seen this bike in well over 8 years, it has been stored in a wooden shed since at least 1989, and I completely expected a bucket of rust to be sitting where this bike once sat. To my suprise, it wasnt in very bad shape, and pretty much how I remember it as a child. A bit of polish here, some spit there... it does need some paint, but that is no big deal.

It fired right over with a little squirt of starting fluid, but needed the carb rebuilt.

Tthis week, Ii have to buy all the replacement parts, wheels, brakes, and such.

My wife's been very supportive of the whole ordeal. She actually wanted to help, and made me take the sissy bar off so she could clean it up, and she spent about 4 hours on it. I can't complain.

McD's trials and tribulations

In one fell swoop, McDonalds Store #23812, which I had proclaimed as the best of the McDonalds stores has fallen to the worst. Never to be visited again.

After paying for my food, and waiting at the window for over 5 minutes to receive it, I continue on my merry journey back to work. Halfway there, I blatantly disregard all traffic laws, and pull my fries out of the bag to begin eating. Only to find a small fry in the bag. Grab the receipt, it confirms what I said at the order microphone with the fancy LED display, the sign reads (this sign for order accuracy), I had ordered a large fry.

S happens, I eat the fries.

Once inside work, I grab for my double quarter pounder, open the box, and I get a free gift, double triple extra ketchup with a side of hamburger.

My feud with god continues.

Wrong, just so wrong.

From the News of the Weird.

Women's groups in Mexico City, working from a building donated by the municipal government, are preparing a retirement home for at least 65 elderly prostitutes, according to a March Reuters dispatch. Among the candidates that Reuters interviewed was Gloria Maria, who says she is 74 years old and "can't charge what the young ones do" but still has "two or three clients a day."

Keep on keepin' on, Grandma.

TGIF

I just left this place 11 hours ago, now I'm back for more fun filled Mandatory Overtime. Oh well, I'm off tomorrow, and I'm going to pick up my motorcycle. The one item i have coveted for well over 15 years. My father finally was convinced to give it to me, after it rusted to a bucket of bolts.

No whining, its the bike I've always wanted.

Only 11 more hours to go today.
